When the next hurricane comes, your roof either holds — or it costs you your home. Legacy Fortified Roofing builds storm-hardened roofs for Louisiana and Mississippi homeowners, engineered to the IBHS FORTIFIED™ standard. Learn about the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program grant. Backed by Legacy Construction and 30+ years of Gulf Coast craftsmanship.
Storm-hardened residential roofing, re-roofs, and premium asphalt and metal systems for homeowners across Louisiana and Mississippi.
TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal, and hybrid roofing systems for retail, industrial, hospitality, and multi-family properties across the Gulf Coast.
Developed by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), FORTIFIED is the only roofing standard engineered specifically to survive hurricanes, hail, and high winds — and the only one insurers reward with premium discounts.
Enhanced roof deck attachment, sealed roof deck, impact-rated shingles, and locked-down edges. Stops rain from destroying your home when shingles fail. Meets the IBHS FORTIFIED Roof standard.
Everything in FORTIFIED Roof plus reinforced gable ends, chimney bracing, and locked-down soffits and attic vents. Whole-envelope hardening.
Silver + continuous load path from roof to foundation. The strongest residential roofing standard in the country. Maximum hurricane resilience.
Consistency isn't a promise — it's a process. Here's how we guarantee your roof is installed the same way as the last one that survived the storm.
One roof or one thousand — same spec sheet, same fasteners, same photo audits. Pneumatic nail guns tuned to manufacturer depth-of-drive, with trained crews verifying nail seating on every course — the exact FORTIFIED inspection point. Every step of your install is documented in CompanyCam so you see exactly what your neighbors down the street can't: the layers, the fasteners, and the quality checks under your shingles. Technology is how we guarantee your install matches the one that survived the last hurricane.
Every technology on this list exists for one reason: to remove human error from the process, and put verifiable evidence in your hands at closeout.
Louisiana's Fortify Homes Program (LFHP) is administered by the Louisiana Department of Insurance. It's a lottery-based grant of up to $10,000 toward a FORTIFIED roof upgrade. Selection is random — no contractor can guarantee it. We can guarantee we'll be ready when you're selected.
Registration windows open unpredictably at ldi.la.gov/fortifyhomes. Only the homeowner may apply — no contractor can do it for you.
LDI runs a random lottery. If selected, you hire a FORTIFIED Evaluator (independent third party), collect three approved contractor bids, and wait for written LFHP acceptance.
Approved contractor installs to the IBHS FORTIFIED standard. Evaluator verifies. LFHP pays the grant directly and you receive the FORTIFIED certificate for your insurance carrier.
Louisiana law under Act 533 (2024) requires admitted insurers to file actuarially justified premium discounts for FORTIFIED-designated homes. The discount applies to the hurricane portion of your homeowners policy — typically the largest single component of a Gulf Coast premium. Your actual carrier-filed percentage may be different — the LDI-published numbers below are benchmarks, not guarantees.
